Platform 1:                                              Thermoset Prepreg


Platform Inroduction:

This is a joint project, cooperating among Century Design Inc. (CDI) - machinery supplier from USA, Red Composites - prepreg processing consultants from U.K. and ATA – carbon fiber technology from Guangzhou China. The prepreg machine in this Platform is the world’s most advanced and precise 300mm width production line. Many prepregers in Europe, U.S. and Japan have the same models to produce aerospace level prepreg. Red Composites (U.K.) has profound experience in prepreg processing, especially, knows how to make sub-quality carbon fiber into qualified prepreg, and how to determine the market segments through its own considerable resources and channels. After more than 10 years’ marketing in the field of high performance fiber and composites, ATA has won a wide range of markets and customers resources.

Platform Introduction:

 

In recently years, Thermoplastic Prepreg and it’s Composites have been developing very fast. Comparing with Thermoset Prepreg, Thermoplastic Prepreg does not need to be stored and transported in refrigeratory, and it’s subsequent molding process is of convenience and high efficiency; Meanwhile, its hig tenacity and anti-impact properties, especially its recycling characteristics meet the current trend of energy conservation and emission reduction. Presently, manufacturers adopt different processing, such as Powder Spraying, Mixed-fiber Weaving, Film Pressing to get Thermoplastic Prepreg of different resin content, in the end to meet different molding application processing. After several years’ of observation and study, we come to know that the current Thermoplastic Prepreg Technology selling to China is of low level, while the high level technology is forbidden to export to China. Therefore, the only way we have in front of us is to start the research & development by ourselves, based on referring to international experience & information.

Platform 3:                                           Chopped Carbon Fiber



Platform Introduction:

 

Chopped & Milled Carbon Fiber is a special kind of preformed unit. It has mainly 4 application directions as: 1. utilize its strength, works as strength reinforcement plastics and weight-reducing material in high-end market where glass fiber could not meet; 2. utilize its heat and electricity conductivity, to produce anti-static case for electronics; 3. utilize its modulus, to produce floating material for offshore oil and gas fields which could stand extensively high pressure; 4. utilize its wave-absorption or wave-penetration function after combination with resin, to produce material of invisibility function, and for racks of radome. Chopped & Milled Carbon Fiber technology is of high level of difficulty, not an easy product that could be produced in a worshop with manual cutting and puching machines. Maintaining the uniform length (from 1~56mm) of chopped fiber and making sure the dispersity of different resins in order to ensure the continous produciton is a very complex, systematic technology.
